We made it to Virginia Beach!
We drove down late Thursday night and have been in full relaxation mode ever since. Unfortunately for us, we got ourselves some nice burns on Friday, and the weather has been stormy every day since. What is this nonsense? I can't go back pale with splotchy burns in awkward places! I'm supposed to return home a bronzed goddess! Seriously.
Even without the sun, though, we've managed to have a wonderful time. There have been many dolphin sightings (dozens of them swim just a little ways off the beach. it's really incredible), delicious meals, and family movie nights (I saw the Sixth Sense for the first time...creepy). Speaking of creepy, why oh why did shark week have to be the week we go to the beach? I was convinced those dolphin fins were a pack of blood-thirsty great whites.
