Please?
It has been so nice to just chill here for a week and decompress. We haven't had the busiest summer, but it has certainly had its share of stress. We've loved being able to sleep in every morning, put our swimming suits on first thing in the morning, and eat popsicles and m&ms all day long.
Yesterday we went kayaking! Remember this newly realized dream of mine? It was even more amazing this time because after a little while of paddling around (and me hyperventilating about any shadow I saw in the water. darn you shark week), a huge pack (herd? gang?) of dolphins swam right by us, literally minutes after wishing for such an occurrence. You could hear them spout the water out of their blowholes as they peeked their bodies out of the water. So amazing.
Also, random story: we witnessed a wedding on the beach. A Cee Lo Green look-alike, his bride and the whole wedding party trooped onto the beach right next to us, had their ceremony, and snapped some pictures by the water. An hour later and they were gone. You should be proud that we resisted the urge to photobomb their pictures.
For our last night here, we went out for delicious seafood and ice cream from Handel's. A perfect ending to our vacation. See you next year Virginia Beach!
